Mills to run for Social Circle council

Crenan Mills, owner of FlowerMills Greenhouses, announces his candidacy for Social Circle City Council District 4. Mills decided to enter the race when asked to do so by concerned citizens after longtime incumbent, Anne Peppers, did not seek reelection.

Mills states: "My interests in entering the race are to serve the people of District 4, solve problems, and work with others to help make Social Circle truly ‘Georgia's Greatest Little Town'. My priorities include enhancing public safety, maintaining the City's sound financial position while keeping fees and taxes low, and encouraging planned growth."

After graduating from LSU with BS and MS degrees in Finance, Mills spent 9 years in commercial banking in Atlanta. Mills has operated FlowerMills Greenhouses, a wholesale grower of bedding plants, for fourteen years and served as a board member and Treasurer of the Georgia Flower Growers Association for ten years. Mills has been active with Social Circle's Better Hometown and is currently Chairman of the Social Circle Tree Board. As a result of Mills' volunteer efforts in beautifying Social Circle, he was named a recipient of The Walton Tribune's Unsung Hero Award.

Mills, his wife Lynn, a landscape architect, and their daughter are members of Social Circle United Methodist Church.
