Fun at the fair

Annual Social Circle fair returns Sept. 6

/

Call it the last hurrah of summer or the first sign of fall, either way, its time once again for the annual Social Circle Fair.

Held Sept. 6-10, the fair is the largest fundraiser for the Social Circle Rotary Club. It features traditional fair rides, such as bumper cars and a Ferris wheel, along with several kid-friendly rides. There are typically about 25 rides set up in addition to booths selling a plethora of food and games.

The fair will be held on the grounds of the middle/high school and opens at 6 p.m. every night - except for Saturday, when it opens at 3 p.m. There will be daily helicopter and pony rides Friday and Saturday and free Georgia Child Identification registration Friday.

Admission is $1 at the gate (children under 1 are free), and a one-day pass wristband is $20 at the door and allows for unlimited carnival riding. Pre-sale tickets can be purchased from Rotarians, the Bank of Social Circle and Pinnacle Bank for $15.

The rides and attractions are provided by McNair Amusements.
