The annual Back 2 School block party is set for Sunday, but it's not too late to drop off much-needed supplies.

Organizers are still in need of all supplies, but specifically No. 2 pencils, mechanical pencils, blue and black pens, dividers and graph paper. Supplies will be given to students and their parents and guardians on Sunday.

The event will begin at 3 p.m. on Newton Drive by the Board of Education officers.

There will be entertainment from local cheerleaders, a DJ and local football players, as well as area businesses such as The Oaks Golf Course and Chick-fil-A.

Students in kindergarten through eighth grade can be registered for supplies between 3-4:30 p.m. in the media center of Sharp Learning Center. The supplies will be given out at 5:15 p.m. Only Newton County students are eligible for supplies. The event will end at 5:30 p.m.

Donations can be dropped off at the office of Main Street Covington, 2104 Washington St.
