Help Oxford celebrate the Fourth

You can be part of the Fourth of July celebration in Oxford and possibly win a prize for your efforts.
Just decorate your bicycle, car, truck, or float in a patriotic theme and you have a chance to win $100, the prize for the best float.

The parade lineup is at 9 a.m. on Haygood Avenue, and no registration is needed. To be considered for an award you must be lined up by 9:30 a.m. The parade begins at 10 a.m.

Awards and recognition will be presented by Mayor Jerry Roseberry at noon at Old Church. There will also be music, concessions, and the Oxford Lions will be providing free watermelon and popcorn.
Walkers can hand out candies and treats, but you can't throw anything out from a vehicle. Horses are welcome, but no stallions, please.
