"The Literacy Days Competition provides students with the opportunity to perform and be recognized for their talents through the celebration of the arts," said Samantha Fuhrey, Director of Secondary Schools for Newton County for Newton County. "I am proud of our winners as it takes a tremendous amount of talent and commitment to participate in this type of competition."

The Regional Literacy Days Festival is a competition among elementary and middle schools from the following school systems: Butts, Fayette, Henry, Lamar, Newton, Pike, Spalding and Upson.

In order to represent Newton County Schools at the event, students had to first win their grade-level competition at both their school and the school system competition.
