Living the old life:

Barbara Williams demonstrates what the first Thanksgiving was like in an exhibit at the Blue Willow Inn in Social Circle. Wednesday was her first day working the display, which is open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily through Nov. 28 behind the restaurant, 294 N. Cherokee Road (Georgia Highway 11 north).

"I’m just going to hang out here and meet some of the people," she said.

The display is free and features authentic replicas of life in 1600s New England, including farming tools and utensils, brooms and weaponry.
