Melissa Leigh Dally and William Andrew Strickland were married July 3 at First Baptist Church of Social Circle, with the Reverend Todd Bowen of Grand Island, Nebraska, cousin of the bride, officiating. The bride is the daughter of Hal and Rebecca Dally of Social Circle, and is a first-grade teacher at Social Circle Primary School. The groom owns and operates The Yard Company and is the son of Kay Strickland and the late Billy Strickland of Oxford.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by the groom’s sister, Jessica Brown, as matron of honor, in addition to bridesmaids: Kelli Ballard, Heidi Gagliardi, Erika Keaton, Ashley Lankford, Melinda Massey, Tessa Nolan, Nicole Peters, Mimi Pohl and Tara Polston. Kylie Sorrow served as junior bridesmaid, and Natalie Polston was the flower girl. Guest attendants were Jasmine Bowen, Reagan Bowen, Jordan Bowen and Grace Bowen.

The bride wore a strapless Sophia Tolley A-line wedding gown with all-over lace accented by intricate beading and a sweep train. The detachable satin cathedral train with lace motif pick-ups was worn for the formal ceremony. Melissa carried a bouquet of white peonies and cream mini calla lilies, studded with silver pearl and rhinestone hat pins. The arrangement was tied with ivory satin ribbon embroidered with her maiden monogram and the bride and groom’s married monogram, and included a silver locket containing a photograph of the groom’s father. Bridal attendants wore strapless turquoise and ivory A-line gowns with sweep trains by Bill Levkoff.

The groom chose his brother, Brad Harrison, as best man and groomsmen included Michael Ballard, Shane Ballard, Patrick Dally, Barry Dial, Justin Holmes, T.J. Nolan, Brett Polston, Matthew Polston, John Scruggs and Justin Scruggs. Jake Scruggs served as junior groomsman, and Hunter Polston was the ring bearer. The groom and his attendants wore charcoal full-length cutaways by Ralph Lauren, hickory-striped pants and silver-grey vests with ascots.

On Friday evening, the mother of the groom treated the wedding party and out-of-town guests to a low country boil at Arrowhatchee Farm. Following the wedding ceremony the bride’s parents hosted a reception at the Madison Morgan Cultural Center. After enjoying a Western Caribbean honeymoon cruise, the couple now resides in Social Circle.
