Woman charged in ‘09 death of Larry John Marchesseau

The woman accused of causing the accident that killed a 67-year-old man last year was charged with vehicular homicide Friday.

Annie Rose Evan-Glodowski, 40, was charged with second degree vehicular homicide and improper lane usage. The charges stem from a head-on collision on August 5, 2009, which killed Larry John Marchesseau and sent Evan Glodowski to the hospital with two broken legs.

According to Georgia State Patrol Trooper Shaun Browder, Evan-Glodowski, who was driving a 2006 Honda, went around a curve heading south on Lower River Road and traveled into the northbound lane of traffic, striking Marchesseau’s 1985 Chevrolet C20. Marchesseau was killed instantly when his vehicle was hit head-on.

"The Chevrolet tried to get out of way, but there just wasn’t time," Browder said. "The driver of the Honda attempted to stop — there were skid marks — but it happened too fast."

Evan-Glodowski turned herself in at the Newton County Detention Center at 10:39 p.m., Aug. 13. She bonded out shortly thereafter.
