Annie F. Robinson

Mrs. Annie F. Robinson died Aug. 9. She was born in 1931 in Jasper County, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James (Thelma) Manuel and the second of nine children. She was preceded in death by brothers Lester Manuel and Henry jack Manuel and her husband Mr. Jimmie Robinson Sr. Mrs. Robinson was educated in Newton County public school and attended Carver Vocational School in Atlanta and became a CNA. She subsequently received a license in cosmetology. She was an excellent beautician who styled hair for over 50 years. At a young age, she joined Union Grove United Methodist Church. In alter years she moved her membership to Murray C.M.E. Church where she served as a stewardess. As well as raising her three children, she opened her heart and home as a foster parent. She had been a foster mother to more than 60 children. Mrs. Robinson was a very loving, uplifting and free-hearted person. Her hobbies included cooking, sewing and caring for others. She will be greatly missed.

Surviving are children Lois (James) Kimbrough, Jimmy (Mary) Robinson Jr., Melvin Robinson; children whom she raised as her own Yaisa "Kizzy" Crowley, Quinton (Faleshia) Reed, Timmothy (Regina) Clayton, Quantez Robinson; 27 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters Bessie (Sam) Kelly, Julia Brown; brothers Leon Manuel, Charles Manuel, Fred Manuel, Eddie Manuel; aunts Louise Jackson, Willie Sue Smith; sisters-in-law Mary Dean Robinson, Lavancy Hyman, Edna Manuel, Geneva Cobb, Mary Lee Cobb, Lucille Cobb; brother-in-law Willie Cobb; special cousin whom she loved as a sister Vivian Sawyers; special friends Larcenia Brown, Ruby Barr; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Aug. 15 at Union Grove United Methodist Church with Pastor Kenneth Norrington, Pastor Joseph Williams, the Rev. Willie Smith, Pastor Terry Shepard and Pastor Gloria Blue officiating. Interment followed in Westside Cemetery.
