Less than a year after starting construction, an open house will be held at the new Oxford City Hall on Aug. 26.

Grading started in December and according to city clerk Carol Poole, rain set in and delayed construction for a couple of months, but all in all, the project is pretty much on target. The new city hall will also house a community center and cost roughly $1.6 million.

The event is open to the public and will be held from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 26.
