NCSO looking for ice cream truck driver

Parents allege inappropriate behavior

Deputies from the Newton County Sheriff’s Office were called to a home in the Alcovy Mobile Home Park Monday afternoon by parents who alleged an ice cream man inappropriately touched their daughter.

When deputies arrived they were informed that the victim, an 8-year-old girl, went with her siblings to buy ice cream from the ice cream truck around 4:37 p.m. As the girl was leaving, the ice cream man reportedly told her to come back and that she had a bug on her back, according to NCSO Public Information Officer Corporal Anthony Washington.

The girl walked back to the man was and the ice cream man allegedly stroked her hair and neck. The actions were reportedly witnesses by her siblings. When they told their parents, they confronted the ice cream man, who then left the area.

The man is described as a white male, about 5-foot-8-inches tall, who goes by the name “Nathan.”

Anyone with information about incident is asked to contact the NCSO at (678) 625-1400 or online at www.newtonsheriffga.org. All tips can be given anonymously.
