Pet of the Week - June 25

Take me home: The Newton County Animal Shelter’s pet of the week is a Dachshund mix, 4 months old, black, very friendly and very cute. Also available for adoption are a brown Chihuahua/Jack Russell mix, 5 years old; a silky terrier, 1 year old, light brown; an adult Jack Russell, a tan and white 4-yea-old Chihuahua; a Chihuahua mix, yellow; another Chihuahua mix, reddish brown, adult; a terrier mix, black, 5 years old; a Chihuahua/Manchester mix, 5 years old, black and tan; two beagles, tri-colored, both about 2 years old; an adult beagle mix; two 8-month-old Beagle/Dachshund mix puppies, black; a mixed breed, black, named Smacky; a yellow Lab mix named Clyde; a tri-colored shepherd mix, friendly; a brown and black shepherd mix; a 6-month-old heeler mix; a 6-week-old Shihtzu; a black Lab mix with black collar and several other mixed breeds. The shelter has nice cats and kittens for adoption. The shelter is located at 210 Lower River Road in Covington. The telephone number is (770) 786-9514. Adoption hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays.
