Oxford selects furniture provider

Oxford city council voted five to one to award a bid to provide office furniture for the new city hall building to Office Creations out of Suwannee for $41,361.29.

There were four bids for the job, along with Office Creations, CWC out of Atlanta bid $49,114.26; Renfrew Associates out of Cumming bid $41,831.32 and local bidder Ramsey’s Furniture Company bid $29,775.

According to council member Jim Windham, the decision to go with the bid from Office Creations was, "in the best interest of the city of Oxford, and that is our charge."

Mayor Jerry Roseberry said he believed the general censuses of the council was that "the winning bid that was being offered was more consistent with what the council wanted for the building."

Windham concurred and added that the amount of the bid fell within their budget range for furniture of the building which us scheduled to open July 27. The board had budgeted $100,000 to completely furnish city hall, which included audio/video and electronic equipment.
