Gay Y. Clark, Executive Assistant, Bard Medical Division, has received the prestigious Charles Russell Bard Award, an honor recognizing outstanding character, abilities, and achievements.

Twelve years ago, Gay Clark began her career at Bard as an Administrative Assistant in the Microbiology Department at Bard Medical Division and since then she has consistently moved up the Bard ladder. First, in September 2003 she was promoted to Executive Secretary at Bard Urological, supporting the vice president of sales and the vice president of marketing. And, in December 2005, she was promoted to support the president of Bard Urological, as well as continuing her support for the vice president of marketing.

Gay is also known for helping organize and execute numerous charitable fundraisers, including the Secret Santa Fund; the Brad Porter Memorial Fund to provide a bone marrow transplant for co-worker Brad Porter, which raised over $80,000; and serving as co-Chairperson for the Brad Porter Memorial Golf Tournament in 2007 and 2008. Her other good works include helping organize fundraisers for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Prostate Cancer Awareness and Mary Beth’s Place — a volunteer-built playground.

As an award winner, Gay and her spouse received an all-expenses-paid trip to New York City. She was also honored at a recent company meeting.

Bard’s management created the Charles Russell Bard Award in 1992 as a venue for employees to acknowledge their colleagues who demonstrate exemplary performance and commitment to Bard’s core values of quality, integrity, service and innovation.
