Students from Social Circle Theater have made Georgia proud, the young artists earned two national honors — a "Freddie G Outstanding Production" award and a "Freddie G Outstanding Achievement Female" for Social Circle student Lanier Forster at the 2010 Junior Theater Festival which took place in Atlanta on Jan. 15-17. The 18 students, ages 7-17, are from Conyers, Covington and Social Circle and they presented selections from the musical "Thoroughly Modern Millie Junior" for adjudication by Broadway actor Rashad Naylor ("Hairspray," in the Chicago Company of Jersey Boys) and iTheatrics Chief of Staff Marty Johnson.

Social Circle Theater would like to thank the Walton Foundation for their help in sending the group to JTF 2010.

Social Circle Theater was one of six schools awarded "Outstanding Production" and was invited to perform for all festival attendees at the award ceremonies
